As an athlete, you’re always looking for an edge. So you use supplements to boost your performance. If you’re smart, you also use supplements to help your body recover and function optimally. One of the most common things athletes ignore is joint health. Training hard is one thing, but if you’re neglecting your joints, you may be putting yourself at risk for a serious injury. Regardless of what kinds of sports you’re into, if you’ve ever suffered from joint and ligament pain, then you know how it can set back your training days, even weeks. Unlike conventional non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like aspirin, and ibuprofen, Jointment Sport has been designed to help correct the underlying problem, not simply mask it. More importantly, NSAIDs have been shown to actually inhibit collagen matrix synthesis (cartilage repair). Help your body help itself with extra-strength Jointment Sport.
Jointment Sport has been specially formulated for the athlete. It contains the proven one-two combination of glucosamine and chondroitin, plus ten other active ingredients including MSM and shark cartilage. Glucosamine provides the basic building blocks of proteoglycans (the substance of cartilage) and glycosaminoglycans (GAG). Glucosamine is an intermediate in mucopolysaccharide synthesis and its availability in cartilage tissue can be rate-limiting for proteoglycan production. Chondroitin and shark cartilage have been added to enhance the effects of glucosamine. Shark cartilage is rich in chondroitin sulfate. MSM has long been used to help alleviate musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. Other key ingredients include methionine, a sulfur-containing amino acid, which is vital for cartilage health. Manganese increases SOD (superoxide dismutase) activity. In Europe, manganese is used in the treatment of inflammation (e.g., resulting from rheumatoid arthritis). Along with manganese, turmeric exhibits marked anti-inflammatory action. As effective as cortisone or phenylbutazone in certain models of inflammation, turmeric also inhibits platelet aggregation and cyclooxgenase and lipoxygenase enzymes which catalyze the formation of inflammatory prostaglandins. Vitamin E helps increase SOD activity and provide anti-inflammatory actions. A bioflavonoid indicated in virtually all inflammation models (e.g., arthritis, asthma, hay fever), quercetin inhibits the release of histamine and other inflammatory mediators. Magnesium works together with calcium to help build bone strength.
